We’re saying goodbye to the Year Of The Dog and welcoming in the Year of the Pig. We’ve gone the whole hog ahead of the festivities, and been turning our mind to fun facts about piggies…

The Pig is the twelfth of all zodiac animals. This element represents a good social life and healthy interpersonal relations.

So what happens when you mix the Pig with the Earth Element?

The pigs realistic and likes to enjoy life. They have a great sense of humor, therefore enjoy of larger social circles and tend to forge lifelong friendships. Pigs love to entertain and organize gatherings. They are brave, noble and chivalrous and will always seek justice. Pigs are diligent, compassionate, and generous. They have great concentration: once they set a goal, they will devote all their energy to achieving it. Though Pigs rarely seek help from others, they will not refuse to give others a hand. Pigs never suspect trickery, so they are easily fooled.

We celebrate Chinese New Year on a different date each year with the waxing of the full moon, according to the Chinese lunar calendar, the lunar calendar is around 20 days behind the Gregorian calendar, so New Year celebrations usually fall anywhere between 21 January and 20 February until the full moon arrives.

Grab a spot on a rooftop bar, order a few drinks and watch the fireworks and celebrations unfold over the city! Remember to wish everyone a happy new year with a “Gung hay fat choy!”
